Trying to Catch up--I have been soooooo busy!!

I know, I have not been very good at this bloging 'thing' over the past month or so. I promise to try to do better. Actually, I may have to let someone else help me with it.

Anyhow, let's see what's been going on:
OK, so I haven't told you anything about what I have done in August---shame on me.
First I visited Devine Quilt Guild. They had a pot luck supper and I stuffed myself to the gills. Can a rodent do that? I don't think that I have gills. But I stuffed myself anyway. The food at these things is always wonderful. Quilters really know how to cook.

I always learn so much when 'they' let me go to a guild meeting. I think that I can do this stuff that they call needle turn applique. After all, if creatures with 2 hands can do it surely those of us with 4 can do it at least twice as good. Don't cha think?

My next outing was with Beth, Judy, and Joyce. Joyce had to take her machines to Branum's in Augusta for service (no pictures) and Judy had to take another machine to Jeff's. We left early in the morning so that we could be at Branum's when they opened. After we dropped 2 machines there we went on to Jeff's. We had a machine fixed there and did some shopping.

We needed to 'kill' more time so we also went to JoAnn's and to Harbor Freight. Have you been to Harbor Freight?  They have rotary cutter blades in their carpet section to fit your 45mm cutters and they are sharp!! and Cheap!!! Give them a try.

It was time for lunch and we headed to the river walk section of Augusta. They found a nice little place for lunch. I highly recommed the 'Cotton Patch'.

They do have VERY cold beer and cute waiters.

The food is really good too. Just key it into the GPS and you will find it.

We did pick up the machines and headed back to Columbia. Joyce made one stop at Gravatt to check on the arrangements for Quilt Camp. She wanted to make sure that her table arrangements were right and that the Gravatt staff were aware of a few final points. After that------Home James.

Thursday night was a trip to Design Group. Joyce didn't even let me out of the bag!!!! I really need to talk to her about that.

Next up: Have you ever been to a sale at Faust Textiles???????? Just wait until you hear this!!!!
Until next time,

So much to say, So little time!!!

I have lots to tell you about. I have been back to Charlotte. I went to a bigggggggg sale at Faust Distributors (almost got lost in the fabric bins). There have been discussions and interventions regarding mice. Like I said I have been really busy. But--------- I don't have time right now to tell you about them--I promise that I will bring everything up to date next week, AFTER QUILT CAMP!!!!!!  That's right, I am packed and ready to be entertaining for the 'Frayed Knots' of One Loose Thread. We will be attending the second Summer Fun Quilt Camp this weekend.

Yes, Rhoda and I both will be in attendance. I just hope that she can behave herself. Sometimes she just REALLY get on my LAST nerve. Oh well.

Anyhow, I will catch up with everything next week. With all that is going on, this will probably take several postings since blogger can be a real pain with lots of pictures.

For now, I'm packed and ready. So:

LET'S GO SEW !!!!

PSST!!!!!! Who does she thinks she is anyway? Me be a pain?!?! How dare she talk about me like that. You just wait. I'll get her for that. Short sheeting has been known to happen at camp!!
Stay tuned.

I'm Running Fast to Catch Up

7/22/11

Another northbound trip, stopping first at Starbucks in Sandhills.  I met Bruce, who claimed I’d bit his neck (I am not a vampire).  It was only a small hickey.

In Charlotte, we dropped off 3 machines to be serviced at Charlotte Sewing Center II.  T.H. and I got to ride the purple totes into the shop.

On to Mary Jo’s, where she posed with me and my gang.

After going to Sew Much Fun, where Beth located a new dogwood fabric (I love the wild side fabrics), they had lunch without me!

On to pick up the sewing machines, visiting QBee Quilts, and a stop in Rock Hill at that Starbucks.  I wasn’t allowed in the store because Bruce had called ahead and warned them of my deceiving, toothsome smile.  Rats!

130 miles this trip

More Later from Roada F. Tripp.

Trying to Catch up--I have been soooooo busy!!

7/13/11 Carolina Shop Hop 2011
Beth, Deb, Mary and Helen took me to the Five Points Starbucks (finally, a new one!) before heading northwest on an abbreviated Shop Hop. Somebody wasn’t watching Mapquest, and we overshot our first Greenville exit. After much finger pointing (no, not that finger) at 60+ mph, we got off I-85 for the next shop, Bernina Sewing Center. On to Central for lunch and Heirlooms and Comforts.

Back to Greenville for Judy’s Sewing and Viking Sew ‘n Quilt that we’d missed on the first pass. We got to Stitches in Laurens just before closing. Then I was “outed”, since the shop owner noticed I had a different earring than when “I” was thru there on Monday. I had to admit that I was Rhoda, and that I had been cloned because Roada couldn’t keep up with all of her appearances. I decided to donate to the Humane Society, under the supervision of a very stern rooster (who keeps a rooster at the register??), to keep my identity a secret for a little longer.

A very quiet trip back home….. 296 miles today
